Just got this yesterday, so I can't really comment on the longevity. I can say that the design is very slick -- very easy to setup and breakdown, yet surprisingly sturdy and stable. Also fairly easy to clean.
Because of the sloping design, the mattress should be big enough to sleep a kid until they are old enough to sleep on a cot/bed. But it's not so spacious that I'd use it as a playpen. Pen, yes. Play, no.
My biggest complaint about this crib is the price -- it's well-made, but the mattress is your basic foam (and in fact, if you wash the outer cover you are stripping it right down to the block of foam) that will probably only last a few years. And it requires a custom fitted sheet which is NOT included. At present the best price for this crib on Amazon is $220 -- for that much money, the lack of a sheet is almost criminal. I feel like they are preying on parents who are willing to spend $$$ on their children that they otherwise wouldn't or couldn't. This seems to be par for the course with the Baby Bjorn stuff.
I'm still giving it 4 stars though, because it seems to be the best portable crib design out there. And I have to say, the Baby Bjorn stuff we have has been generally worth it.Get more detail about BABYBJÖRN Travel Crib Light Blue.
